Catching Up!

Me-oh-my-oh, do we have lots of catching up to do! The last few months have seen the Pesky boys in NYC (National Underground), Philadelphia (two house shows), Natick, MA to open for Ellis Paul, and many other spots! Thank you to all of you that have joined our mailing list, bought our CD "Good Grief!", and spread the PJN word to friends!

We've been hard at work on a new studio EP, which we are VERY excited about; check out a clip of "Fade" on our Music page here! We've got lots of friends joining us ... Charlie Rose on bass and pedal steel, Eric Lee on fiddle, Eric McDonald on mandolin, Irene Antonellis and Oren Malka on vocals. Our CD release party will be June 2nd at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. We sold the place out last time, and we'd love your help to do so again!!

We're still filling out our calendar for the next few months, but we're starting things off at the Me & Thee on Friday, 4/23 with Jubilee Mule. On Saturday, 5/1, we're opening at Circle of Friends Coffeehouse (www.circlefolk.org) for the incredible female duo Dala from Toronto. We'll be at The Burren in Somerville,MA on 5/16 with our good friends the Phil Henry Trio from Vermont, then at Boynton's Taproom in Manchester, NH on 5/22 with the awesomely-talented Brittany Ann!

Please forgive us, we promise to be better about staying in touch. We hope you'll come back, we've got so much more to share!

PJN Back for some Boston shows!!

It took shows in four states, multiple cheesesteaks, a little (or a lot of) help from our friends, and a huge mess of accordions, but PJN are back in town in a big way. Yes, Jersey just couldn't get enough, Philly went phanatic, Saratoga was stupendous, and Western Mass wants more, but for now we want nothing more than to get back to our Boston-area roots to play just for YOU!

We are thrilled to be playing a show this Tuesday night (yes, THIS Tuesday night) at Cambridge's infamous Lizard Lounge with our close friends We're About Nine. Can't make this show? Although it saddens us deeply, we're cool with that because we know you'll want to see all of our other local shows coming up soon.

We miss you and hope to see you soon and often.

Falcon Ridge 2009 - we have survived

Pesky J. Nixon's third official Falcon Ridge experience as a group has concluded and after Jake broke out his power washer to clean up my feet I think I can almost see flesh again.

Many thanks to the folks that make this event happen as it is always a highlight of our year to attend this mecca of musicianship. Most of our news will be following in our monthly email, but we wanted to thank some folks specifically for their contributions to this year's experience: All the members of the Loozers Lounge - more specifically the Jones Family for helping to make this camp the best camp to be at rain or shine, Anthony and Abbie - you guys are our Falcon Ridge BFF's thanks for helping showcase us, Scott Moore of Moore Music and FOCUS - we love you!, and last but certainly not least - THE FRONT PORCH CAMP - who likes to party? You like to party and we like partying with you. Hopefully we'll be seeing some of you folks down at our show at Chaplin's in Spring City PA on August 8!

Your Pesky boys will be co-billing at the Me & Thee Coffeehouse with our good friend Anthony da Costa! This will be a fantastic night of fun with new songs from PJN and a brand new album from Anthony da Costa.

Wait, wait, wait... sadly no, we were not booked this year, however, we will be there with the lovable Loozers Lounge! On Thursday July 23rd PJN will be running an evening of fun with many of our musical friends. Stay tuned for news and information!

We'd like to thank all of the fans and the friends we met at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, NERFA, and all of our shows this year.
